Walk around the small inner-city
Sydney suburb of Chippendale where many boutique galleries
are nestled between Victorian terrace houses and warehouses,
rubbing shoulders with historic pubs and vibrant cafes. The suburb
was once overshadowed by the massive Carlton and United Brewery,
now closed down and being turned into a large complex
of apartments, shops and Central Park. Overview: Starting at the Railway Square bus station near Central Station, walk down Broadway, visit the Kensington St precinct, return to Broadway and walk past the former brewery into Chippendale via Abercrombie St. From here, follow the narrow streets and lanes to take in all the galleries of this compact suburb, finishing at the corner of Cleveland St and City Road for a bus back.
